Charlotte Jackson

Picture
Charlotte Jackson is eleven years old and lives in Halifax, NS and is thrilled to be playing at the Broad Cove Concert for the first time.  Charlotte is no stranger to the Broad Cove area!  Her mother is originally from Broad Cove Chapel Road and her grandparents still live on the road, across from the church.  She loves spending time in both Broad Cove and Ingonish, where both sides of her family hail from.

Charlotte has been playing the violin since age 5 and is taught using the Suzuki method.  She has just completed her Book 3 recital. Charlotte is a member of the Nova Scotia Youth Ambassadors (NSYA) in Halifax and is performing in the Royal NS International Tattoo with this group this summer.  The NSYA group performs year-round at smaller events and venues as well as cruise-ship performances.

Charlotte has a real love of Cape Breton fiddling and step-dancing.  She takes fiddle lessons with Wendy MacIsaac, and is attending the Gaelic College for the second time this summer.  She loves spending most of her summer vacation on Cape Breton Island embracing the wonderful culture and all it has to offer.
